Mahalaya Amavasya (Paksha): Benefits, Vidhi & Customs

Mahalaya Amavasya Puja is considered to be the biggest day of Pitru Paksha, as on this day, the people appease their ancestors and feed food to Brahmins.

In ancient Hindu scriptures, Mahalaya describes one of the stages in which Pitru Paksha falls at the end of the Ashwin fortnight during the new moon day.

This Pitru Paksha marks the start of Mahalaya Paksha, a 16-day lunar period of shradha in the Hindu Panchang.

Mahalaya Amavasya

During the lunar period, families pay homage to their ancestors and deceased relatives by performing tarpan and offering food.

People also believe that performing this ritual during Mahalaya Paksha helps ancestors free themselves from past life sins and bless their families.

Mahalaya Amavasya is a highly significant and fortunate day for expressing appreciation to our forefathers, or Pitrus.

The gloomy fortnight, also known as Mahalaya Paksha, takes place between September and October.

Mahalaya Amavasya occurs during this time as the New Moon. Performing Tarpanam during this holy fortnight is a great way to comfort one’s deceased ancestors.

Amavasya falls on the last day of this fortnight, and it is the most important day in the year for such rites.

For departed family members who passed away on Amavasya Tithi, Poornima Tithi, or Chaturdashi Tithi, Hindus perform Amavasya Tithi Shraddha.

So, are you finding the pandit for Mahalaya Amavasya and want to express your gratitude towards your ancestors? If yes, then you got the right one!

We are the experts who connect the pandit with devotees and devotees with pandits to fulfill their requirements.

We have available various pandits to perform the Vedic rituals or E-Puja in various languages.

Then let’s go explore more details about the Mahalaya Amavasya and how it is performed by the pandit.

What Do You Understand By Mahalaya Amavasya

Mahalaya Amavasya, also known as Pitru Moksha Amavasya, Pitru Amavasya, or Sarvapitri Amavasya, is a traditional day in the Hindu calendar.

The custom is intended to honor our ancestors, or Pitra. On this day, all the family members offer to their past generations to express thanks and thank them for all the life they have given us.

According to the Amavasyant calendar followed in South India, Pitru Amavasya is observed in the Bhadrapada month on New Moon Day (Amavasya).

But, North Indians follow the Purnimant calendar, and according to it, Mahalaya Amavasya is observed in Ashwin; during September-October according to the Gregorian Calendar.

The new moon day, Mahalaya Paksha, also known as Mahalaya Amavasya, is observed on the fifteenth day of Sharadh.

According to Hinduism, this is the most crucial fortnight for comforting our ancestors.

It is also referred to as Pitru Paksha Amavasya or Sarvapitri Amavasya, and it is the ideal day to perform Tarpanam, or ancestral rituals, for departed family members.

Family members might do their shradh rites or pind daan on Mahalaya Amavasya if they are unaware of the date of their ancestors’ passing.

Also, it will guarantee that the ancestors are content and will bless family members for the tranquility and richness they have.

As per the belief, there are many histories and legends related to the Mahalaya Amavasya.

But still, the purpose of performing Mahalaya Amavasya is to express gratitude to ancestors and provide them with moksha in heaven and at home.

Story Behind Mahalaya Amavasya

The Mahabharata is an epic that mentions the legend of Mahalaya Amavasya. Lord Karna passed away and ascended to heaven, and it is said that someone provided him with Jewellery, stones, and diamonds to eat.

He was taken aback by this and sought Lord Indra’s guidance to allay his confusion. Lord Indra responded that although Karna gave generously and generously throughout his lifetime, he omitted to perform the Anna-Daan act for his forefathers.

He requested a chance to return to the mortal realm to make apologies. After being granted permission to return for 16 days, he gave food and water to his forefathers, then he went back to his heavenly home.

Since that time, people have referred to the period as Pitru Paksha or Mahalaya Paksha.

Mahalaya Amavasya is the ideal day to memorialize any of your loved ones who passed away violently and unexpectedly, whether they did it by accident, murder, or suicide.

If you worship with faith and make your offerings to them with love and gratitude on this day, you can pacify them. You will be performing Shradh and offering sacrifices on Mahalaya Amavasya.

You can bring their souls gati and tranquillity by doing Shradh on Mahalaya Amavasya and making offerings (forward momentum).

Also, this can foster joyful and peaceful relationships within the family. After performing this ritual, you are also likely to experience physical and mental health benefits.

Significance Of Mahalaya Amavasya

The energy of spirit beings is thought to be present in the atmosphere during the Mahalaya Paksha fortnight.

To accept sacrifices from their offspring, departed souls travel from Pitru Loka to Earth. During this period, if you do rituals and prayers, you can gain special virtue.

Everyone can show their thanks to their deceased ancestors by performing Mahalaya Tarpanam on Sarvapitri Amavasya or Mahalaya Amavasya, the day of memory observed worldwide.

Mahalaya Amavasya

The Mahalaya Amavasya defines the meaning that Maha means = great, Alaya means = a place, Ama means = together and Vasya means = to reside.

Hence, this term signifies the time when ancestors visit the earth to get offerings from their families.

But in case you are not able to perform the shraddha ritual on Amavasya tithi, Poornima tithi, and Chaturdashi, you should perform it on Mahalaya Amavasya to appease their ancestors.

Mahalaya Amavasya is also known as Sarva Pitra Moksha Amavasya. The lunar period of the fortnight is very important for spiritual practices.

On the day of Mahalaya amavasya, the sun and moon exert gravitational force on the earth. Because of this, the powers of all beings are exerted upwards. This forces heightened awareness.

People may also offer the offerings made on Mahalaya Amavasya to those who pass away without having children.

Individuals who didn’t perform charitable deeds or give food donations won’t find solace in Pitri Loka. These rituals can also be beneficial to these people’s souls.

People can appease the dead whose dates of passing are unknown and for whom they cannot conduct the annual Shraddh on Mahalaya Amavasya.

As Per Astrology Mahalaya Amavasya

Based on astrology the sun planet enters into the zodiac sign Virgo, and the Mahalaya amavasya period starts.

To know about the actions and karmas of previous birth, you see the fifth house position in kundali. In the kaal purush kundali, the fifth house hosts the sun, indicating one’s ancestry.

kanyāgate savitari pitarau yānti vai sutāna,
amāvasyā dine prāpte gṛhadvāraṃ samāśritā:
śraddhābhāve svabhavanaṃ śāpaṃ datvā brajanti te॥

It simply implies that the departed ancestors’ souls visit their sons, grandsons, and offspring when the planet Sun enters the Virgo sign.

Ancestors may potentially curse their descendants and offspring if the Shradh ceremony isn’t performed during Ashwini Amavasya.

This is why performing Tarpan with a mixture of fruits, flowers, and water, as well as giving to charity and food donations, is necessary.

Those with Pitru Dosha in their kundli are those who don’t perform the Shradh ceremony and don’t honor their ancestors.

Mahalaya Amavasya Procedure (Vidhi)

The pandit for Mahalaya Amavasya conducts the rituals for the deceased. On this day, people perform tarpan and shraddha rites to honor family members who passed away on the “Chaturdashi,” “Amavasya,” or “Purnima” dates.

The observer rises early on the day of Pitra Moksha Amavasya and completes the morning rites.

On this day, they welcome a Brahmin to their home and dress in yellow. The family’s oldest man participates in the shraddha ceremony.

Mahalaya Amavasya

The ceremonial watcher washes the Brahmin’s feet and gives them a spotless seat when they enter. Hindu scriptures outline a certain seating arrangement.

The Brahmins of Pitra Paksha and Matru Paksha sit facing the north, while the Brahmins of Deva Paksha sit facing the east.

On Mahalaya Amavasya, ancestors, or “pitra,” are honored. They are worshipped with dhoop, diya, and flowers on this day.

To appease the ancestors, water and grain are also provided. A sacred thread is worn on the right shoulder, and a donation of a splint is made.

After completing the puja rites, the organizers serve specially prepared food for this occasion to the Brahmins. The Brahmins are seated with sesame seeds, and devotees cover the floor.

On this dedicated day, family members spend time remembering their ancestors. Chanting mantras seeks the blessings of the ancestors.

On this day, individuals give thanks to their ancestors who helped make their lives possible. Additionally, they request an apology from their ancestors.

Benefits Of Mahalaya Amavasya

Family members will benefit from performing Mahalaya Amavasya for their departed ancestors in the following ways:

  • Offering them moksha or redemption aids in the satiation of the restless spirits.
  • During Mahalaya Amavasya, ancestors’ blessings assist in resolving family members’ difficulties with relationships, careers, health, and finances.
  • Family members receive blessings for good fortune and a prosperous life from their souls.
  • Eliminate all ancestral bad luck and karma, and assist family members in achieving success in all areas of their lives.
  • Get rid of all the doshas and negative karma you accrued for not performing shradh in the past.

Why One Should Perform Mahalaya Amavasya?

The Mahalaya Amavasya in Hinduism organizes ceremonies for the ancestors after their death.

The Hindu scriptures state that when the soul leaves the earth, it reaches Pitra lok after three days.

The soul undergoes a process of up to 13 days, followed by the performance of Terahvi. Pind daan and tarpan vidhi ensure the moksha of the departed soul one month after death.

Who Should Perform Mahalaya Amavasya

  1. People who want to show their gratitude for having been born into this life and to show their appreciation for it must attend this ceremony.
  2. Those who have Pitru Dosha must observe this day to purge it.
  3. Those who have persistent, never-ending difficulties in life and suffer from illnesses, injuries, and loans should perform the rituals.

Do’s And Don’ts

  • Family members must make shradh or tarpan to the departed ancestors to eradicate ancestral doshas and bad karma.
  • The shradh can help remove the karma that keeps the deceased’s soul from achieving moksha.
  • To assist their ancestors in finding redemption, observers must plan a puja.
  • To receive blessings from the ancestors, one must give water to the Peepal tree.

Conclusion

Mahalaya Amavasya is, in general, a day honoring your ancestors. In actuality, it is a gesture of appreciation towards the ancestors and earlier generations.

To obtain blessings from departed family members’ spirits and assist them in achieving moksha or salvation, it is important to perform Pitru Paksha or Mahalaya Amavasya Puja.

To ensure that the observer or puja performer follows the rules, they need to be an expert in performing all the rituals and mantras.

In the procedure of abhisheka, people usually pour offerings such as milk, ghee, honey, yogurt, panchamrita, rose water, sesame oil, and sandalwood paste.

Apart from other ingredients, the offering depends on the type of Abhisheka being performed to the Lord. The Madhu Abhisheka is routinely performed in Hindu temples.

Mostly devotees perform the Rudrabhishekam and abhishekam of Lord Shiva on the lingams. Another Kumbhabhishekam is a consecration ritual for a Hindu temple.

In this article, we will discuss the Madhu abhisheka and how it will be performed with the recitation of Vedic mantras.

Everyone should participate in the Madhu Abhisheka procedure with full dedication and devotion to get the benefits of it.

Introduction to Madhu Abhisheka

The holy bath given using honey to a god is called a Madhu Abhisheka. This sacred ritual of hydration is used to entice celestial forces into our existence. It is a straightforward yet incredibly powerful purifying method.

This ritual is conducted by the gods, who represent purity in themselves, just because it is still the most effective way to purify our souls.

The Madhu Abhisheka is the process of bathing God with liquid ingredients, where the abhisheka word is taken from the Sanskrit. The word Abhisheka defines the meaning “sprinkle” and “wetting”.

Madhu Abhisheka

The ritual consists of the process of pouring water and other sacred substances on the idol of the deity while chanting mantras by pandits. Another Sanskrit word means “worship” of Madhu Abhisheka.

People believe that Madhu Abhisheka surrenders and loves the deity because the devotees cleanse and purify their minds by giving a holy bath to the statue.

The Madhu Abhishekam could also be practised in forms of yoga-like Bhakti yoga. Among other things, milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, sugar, oil, and fruit juices are some of the cleansing liquids used in abhishekam.

The first five of these stand for the five elements: ether, air, fire, earth, and water. You can also pour panchamrit, a concoction of all five, over the murti. The murti is dressed, fed, and worshipped after being bathed.

The devotees implore the deity to cleanse the five elements—vision (water), taste (earth), hearing (fire), smell (ether), and touch—inside of them by providing the items that represent those elements (air).

But in the process of Madhu abhisheka, the deity is given a bath of only the sacred item, honey, which is also used in the panchamrit.

Panchamrit Abhisheka: Meaning and Significance

The Abhisheka of Honey (Madhu Abhisheka) denotes the moment when beings (jeevis) eventually unite with Him and get the nectar of bliss that honey represents.

It is believed that doing abhishekam with honey produced by bees with full dedication and devotion describes unity and sweet speech.

As per Hindu mythology, the Lord gained immortality by drinking panchamrit, and there is also a belief that drinking panchamrit helps to gain health benefits like improving brain function, nourishing the skin, and purifying the body.

The ingredients used for making panchamrit are based on the name, which denotes that there are five sacred items used. Below are the five items with symbolic meanings. Take a look.

  1. Milk – signifies purity and piousness.
  2. Honey – the sacred item, honey is produced by bees, which symbolizes dedication and cooperation of sweet speech, and unity.
  3. Sugar – used to be blissful and happy.
  4. Yogurt/curd – represents prosperity.
  5. Ghee is used to signify strength and victory.

In a dish, whisk together 4-5 tsp cow’s milk, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp Yogurt, and 2 tsp ghee.

Madhu Abhisheka Importance

Every day, many Hindus visit the temples to worship the gods and please them. The people stand in long queues to see the Lord performing the Abhisheka process.

But have you ever thought about why the deity undergoes the Madhu Abhisheka? Let’s move on to discuss the reason why we performed Madhu Abhisheka.

The priest of the temple must offer the idol Madhu Abhisheka daily. Later, the worshippers distribute the Panchamrutham, also known as Theertham, which uses major ingredients such as milk, curd, and ghee; it is also crucial to use ingredients that come from cows.

According to the Hindu religion, the cow is worshipped and is thought to contain all 33 crore Hindu gods. Consequently, it is likewise a highly revered animal among Hindus.

The significance of the abhishekam is that it cleanses our bodies when we drink it, since each item utilized in the tirtha has a certain purpose.

Abhishekams are offered in a variety of formats to the idol. Let’s examine the many types of abhishekam and their purposes now.

  1. Kumkum Abhishekam
  2. Turmeric Abhishekam
  3. Milk Abhishekam
  4. Curd Abhishekam
  5. Honey Abhishekam
  6. Sugar Abhisheka
  7. Dry Fruits And Banana

If you are going to perform the Madhu Abhisheka to Lord Shiva. Many consider performing this ceremony on Moon-ruled Mondays fortunate because Lord Shiva consumed poison from the churning of the ocean and then placed the Moon on his head to calm it.

On Pradosham days, you can also perform Madhu Abhisheka. According to the Hindu calendar, Pradosha or Pradosham occurs every two months on the thirteenth day of the two weeks.

According to the Hindu calendar, Trayodashi, which means “thirteen,” is the thirteenth day of a lunar phase or fortnight.

There are two Trayodashi days per month, which fall on the thirteenth day of the “brilliant phase” and “dark phase,” respectively, of the moon.

People use the term Pradosh to describe the time just before and just after sunset when they believe that Lord Shiva is at his happiest and most willing to give up his powers.

Madhu Abhisheka Vidhi

  • Make sure you’ve had a bath and that your hands, feet, and face are clean.
  • You can do the ceremony on your nightstand, which serves as the platform, or in a clean, uncluttered part of your home. You can use a specific cloth to cover the table if you’d like.
  • You should place your statue or lingam (an abstract depiction of Lord Shiva) on the table facing east (you can use a compass on your phone to determine the correct direction).
  • Under the statue, set a clean, shallow dish to catch the liquid offering.
  • Slowly pour either water or your sacred honey concoction over the statue or lingam.
  • You might recite a mantra associated with the statue or lingam as you pour the liquid on it; for Lord Shiva, for instance, play the Sri Rudram chant while chanting the straightforward Aum Namah Shivaya mantra.
  • Give the ritual everything you’ve got so the mind stays on task and doesn’t wander.
  • If you use any liquid other than water, carefully wash the statue with water afterwards to remove any leftover liquids.
  • Wipe the statue or lingam with a fresh piece of towel.
  • Also, if you choose, you can purify the air before the ceremony by lighting some incense at the beginning. After cleaning the statue or lingam, you can decorate it by presenting flowers and applying a vibhuti (holy ash), sandalwood, and kumkum (vermilion) tilaka to the statue’s forehead and feet. This pays respect to the earth’s elements, which are crucial for survival.
  • If you use panchamrit for the ritual, you can pour the mixture from the shallow bowl into a glass and consume it as “prasadam,” a gift given to you by the deity after the offering, with mindfulness and thanks.

Benefits Of Madhu Abhisheka

The priests perform Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam, chanting Sri Rudra while using special bathing materials such as Ganga water, milk, buttermilk, ghee, honey, rosewater, coconut water, sandal paste, scented oil, sugarcane juice, and lime juice to bathe the deity or Shiva Lingam eleven (11) times in the sacred bath of honey.

After each Abhisheka, priests throw pure water over the Shiva Lingam, which represents Shiva. They use various Abhisheka articles after each stanza of the Rudra when they repeat it once.

Devotees cherish abhishekam water and prasad, believing it brings immense benefits and blessings.

It eliminates many sins and purifies the heart. It encourages spiritual piety and cooperation among people.

In the Hindu religion, people consider marriage a very special and auspicious bond between two individuals or families that significantly impacts human life and holds great importance.

Marriage is the witness of a special relationship, two people getting into it through performing some rituals.

After tying the knot, the person starts to live together and die together. In every phase of life, they live together and respect each other’s families.

According to Hindu beliefs, astrological calculations, auspicious (Shubh) muhurat, matching of the horoscope (Kundali), and matching of a person’s qualities are therefore important in making this day more beneficial and auspicious.

Additionally, the statement asserts that a marriage can only be deemed lucky if the horoscopes of the bride and groom match in at least 18 of the total 36 traits.

After completing several additional ceremonies and procedures, we solemnize the marriage after determining the correct Muhurat and Tithi.

What is The Meaning & Significance Of Muhurat

According to astrology, a muhurat is a favourable period when the likelihood of any event succeeding is at its highest.

Muhurat is the astrological term for good and bad seasons. Starting any task at a good muhurat enhances the likelihood that it will be successful.

In other words, if you finish the task at the right Muhurtha, it will provide the best outcomes in light of your final destiny. Hence, before taking any action, consider the muhurat.

Most Indian couples strive for a Shubh Vivah Muhurat when they arrange their wedding, but different people have different ideas of what one is.

You can calculate the Shubh Muhurat for marriage in a variety of ways. However, many believe that nakshatra-based Marriage Muhurtham calculations are the most precise.

But given the time and effort required in today’s world, visiting astrologers might be challenging.

Based on 2025 Muhurtham dates for Marriage, our qualified astrologers have more than ten years of experience in Kundli Milan, Janam Patri match, Marriage Dates, and Marriage Muhurat analysis.

Why Shubh Vivah Muhurat Is Important

The proverb “Well Begun is Half Done!” applies to marriages as well. Considering the Janma Kundli of the intended bride and groom sets up a marriage for success.

Additionally, if the marriage occurs during the Vivah shubh muhurat while taking into account the Vivah muhurat Panchang, it produces favourable effects for the couple who exchange vows.

According to Hindu tradition, choosing an auspicious wedding day and following the shaadi muhurat strengthens the couple’s relationship so it can endure seven births. This promotes a fulfilling married life and strong family growth.

Nowadays, people frequently choose their marriage dates without contacting an astrologer to determine the vivah lagan, which leads to troubles later in life.

Couples frequently argue because they don’t marry on auspicious wedding dates, sometimes leading to divorce. The Panchang and kundli are key factors in vivah muhurat calculations.

When determining the shadi muhurat, astrologers make an effort to evaluate the Moon’s placement in the Nakshatra in which the prospective bride and groom were born.

Astrologers choose the shubh nakshatra for marriage based on the letters that appear in the moon’s phase in the nakshatra.

By using astrology to determine the Marriage Muhurat based on the date of birth, the couple and their family may be able to avoid complications in the future.

Pandit for Annaprasana (Rice Feeding) Pooja: Cost, Vidhi And Benefits

Annaprasana Pooja is one of the Hindu activities that is made up of mixing Sanskrit words anna, meaning ‘cooked rice,’ and prāśana, meaning ‘feeding.’ Annaprasana Pooja is mostly named after the baby’s first meal or rice-feeding ceremony.

Key Insights Of Annaprasana Pooja

  • The purpose of Annaprasana Pooja is to make the baby strong and healthy.
  • For baby boys, the best time to perform this ritual is at 6, 8, 10, or 12 months. For baby girls, it is done at 5, 7, 9, or 11 months.
  • In South India, the ritual is often done in Telugu, and the main food offered is payasam (a sweet dish made with rice and milk), also known as Milk Rice.
  • During the ceremony, the baby is given Kheer or Payasam as the main offering.

The Annaprasana Pooja is a very common puja for all Hindus. The main purpose behind this ritual is to transition the food diet from liquid to solid for the babies. Generally, this Pooja is performed for the baby boy in even months and baby girl in odd months.

Annaprasana Pooja Vidhanam in Telugu

Annaprasana Pooja must be performed before the child’s first birthday. This ritual can be performed at home or in the temple as well. The meaning of this Annaprasana Pooja is to introduce the child to solid food materials such as payasam or kheer. After this ritual, a variety of food is introduced to the baby.

What Is Annaprasana Pooja?

When a kid is prepared to switch from liquid to solid food, a ceremony called Annaprasana puja, also known as “Grain Initiation or Rice Feeding,” is done.

The child is typically given very little rice or sweet payasam to eat. The purpose of this pooja is to thank the Lord for blessing the parents with a healthy infant who is ready to consume solid food.

Perform Annaprasana puja when you are ready to transition your infant from a liquid to a solid diet. You can carry it out at any time between six months and the child’s first birthday.

Boys typically undergo Annaprasana in the sixth or eighth month of life within the first seven months. Girls typically have it done around the fifth or seventh month of pregnancy, which is the odd month.

Annaprashan Puja is a custom that commemorates the addition of solid food to a child’s diet. “Prashan” means “to devour,” while “Anna” alludes to food or rice. Parents often carry out this ritual six months into a baby’s life. It is a child’s first bite of solid food.

The purpose of this ceremony is to ask God to grant the infant healthy digestive abilities. All of the child’s friends and family gather on this auspicious occasion to wish the child health and longevity.

This rite is significant because it invokes the blessing of the child’s health and long life from all the Gods, with Agni serving as a witness. It aids in cleansing any pollutants the youngster has accumulated thus far.

When To Perform Annaprasana Pooja?

The Annaprasana Pooja for a baby boy is typically scheduled when the child reaches the 6th or 8th month of life. For a baby girl, the ritual is usually performed in the 5th or 7th month. However, Pandits can help choose the most auspicious date based on the child’s janma nakshatra (birth star), a favorable tithi (date), and yoga (astrological combination).

Importance Of Annaprasana Pooja

Food is a very important part of our life since it fuels our bodies and gives us energy. Since ancient times, humans have dedicated our lives to improving our ability to feed ourselves. This event honors the value of food and the commencement of a person’s consumption of it.

They say a newborn achieves half of their success the day they start eating properly. Because this ceremony is one of the most crucial aspects of your baby’s care, you should carry it out in a sacred setting and follow all the necessary Annaprashan Vidhis.

Annaprasana Pooja Vidhanam in Telugu

Performing this rice-feeding ceremony is believed to eliminate any shortcomings that may have existed. However, this won’t happen until you follow the right Vedic procedure. Even though the infant has been drinking milk, this ritual is significant since it marks his first time eating solid food.

Consider age. The right age to perform this puja is between the ages of six and seven. Delaying it too much could impact the child’s health because if done sooner, his body would not be able to digest it.

Religious Significance Of Annaprasana Pooja

The Annaprasana Ceremony is performed to help a child have a healthy and prosperous life in the long run. The meaning of this ritual, Annaprasana Pooja, describes the first rice feeding of the child.

The Annaprasana Puja is completed when the boy or girl child is between the ages of five and eight months old because, during that time, the child gains the strength to digest solid food or rice.

However, in some scenarios, if the child is very weak, we could postpone this ritual to the next scheduled time. Typically, parents perform the Annaprasana Puja for baby girls during odd months and for baby boys during even months.

Throughout the entire ceremony, organizers place some objects in front of the babies to gauge their future interests in the area.

Whatever items a baby picks up determines their future interest in life. The father of the baby feeds the child to sit on his lap; at that time, the pandit chants the ritual to bless the child. Babies get blessings from God, elders, and Pandit Ji for good digestive powers, talent, and good thought.

Where Can You Perform Annaprasana Pooja?

People mainly perform the Hindu ritual Annaprasana Pooja at home or in the temple. However, some parents prefer to perform the ritual at a banquet hall or community center for the function. In Telangana, many parents prefer to perform the ritual at the temple of their famous god.
